At the Clapham Common Clinic we have a variety of different massage treatments available.
Therapeutic Massage and Holistic Massage covers all the main muscle groups and normally is from head to foot. If you need more specific massage in one area this can always be done. This rejuvenating treatment fuses together nourishing oil application with deep therapeutic massage, using rhythmic pressure to help relieve soreness, back ache and tired muscles, leaving you feeling thoroughly pampered and relaxed
A full hours full bodied, head-to-toe massage is a wonderful experience. Feel the stresses the strains of everyday living just fall away.
Exercise is good for us but it can also stress and strain muscles and tendons. Repeated movement tightens and scars muscles, ligaments and tendons.
The trained application of deep massage counteracts these problems by stimulating circulation and lymphatic flow, breaking down fibrosis, relaxing muscle spasms and relieving pain. By keeping muscles flushed of metabolic waste products and free from trigger points and painful scar tissue, a sports massage keeps injuries to a minimum and restores mobility to previously injured areas.
Deep Tissue Massage
A deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles.
Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, or who have tension in their body from prolonged stress or a repetitive physical activity or work posture.
Deep tissue massage is applied to both the superficial and deep layers of muscles, fascia, and other structures. The sessions are often quite intense as a result of the deliberate, focused work. Receivers of deep tissue massage may sometimes have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two, before feeling better.
We also offer Aromatherapy Massage; Thai Foot Massage; Tui Na Massage; Lymphatic Drainage Massage; Indian Head Massage; Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage; Reiki and Reflexology.
