Cranial Osteopathy

Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body’s structure and its function are intimately related. If the structure is not in balance then its function may be affected, resulting in pain or discomfort. Cranial Osteopathy is a technique used by osteopaths to achieve this balance, though other osteopathic techniques may also be used within a treatment session.

Cranial Osteopathy is a subtle and gentle form of osteopathy. It is appropriate for treating newborn infants, young children and for adults who prefer a more gentle approach. In addition, there may be a number of factors contributing to the symptoms an individual is experiencing, including past trauma, environmental and lifestyle factors. Your osteopath will evaluate the relevance of these to your symptom picture and may offer advice on self-management, posture and exercise.
